Honoring My Body While Training for My First Fit Model Competition

Hi, I’m Annie — a registered nurse, mom of two, and now, someone preparing to compete in a Fit Model show for the very first time.

This journey is new, exciting, challenging, and deeply personal for me. It is not just about training my body for a stage. It is about honoring where my body has been, where it is now, and where it is going.

As I begin preparing for this competition, I find myself reflecting on my body in a much deeper way. Like many women, my relationship with my body has changed through different seasons of life. Becoming a mother was one of the most beautiful and feminine experiences I have ever had, but it also changed the way I saw myself.

After having my daughter, I remember wanting to feel connected to my body again. I wanted to reclaim my femininity, my confidence, and my sense of self. There was a season where I wondered if my body could feel as desirable, strong, or loved as it did before having children.

Looking back now, I realize how much grace I needed to give myself.

One photo I recently shared was taken while I was two months pregnant with my son — though I did not know I was pregnant at the time. That picture holds such a special meaning for me now. At the time, I was trying to feel like myself again after having my daughter. I did not realize my body was already carrying another life.

Now, as I train for my first Fit Model competition, I am looking at that photo with so much gratitude. My body has carried me through motherhood, change, growth, and healing. It has been through so much, and instead of criticizing it, I want to honor it.

This competition is not about trying to become someone else. It is about stepping into a new goal with clarity, purpose, and self-respect.

I want to share the real journey — the progress, the routines, the challenges, the mindset shifts, and the balance of preparing for a show while also being a mom of two and working as a registered nurse.

Some days will feel strong. Some days will feel overwhelming. But every step is part of the process.

My hope is that by sharing this journey, other women feel encouraged to honor their own bodies too. Whether you are in a season of motherhood, healing, rebuilding confidence, or starting a new goal, your body deserves love and respect at every stage.

This is just the beginning of my Fit Model journey, and I am excited to bring you along with me.

With clarity, purpose, and gratitude,
Annie
